A Black Leopard Popularly Called the “ Black Panther” Spotted For The First Time In Africa In 100 years




A black leopard popularly known as the “ black panther” has been seen In Africa for the first time in 100 years! Wow! That’s a long period of time !

According to sources,  A Kenya-based biologist, Dr. Nicholas Pilfold got a wave of news of the rare species lurking around Loisaba Conservancy and wasted no time planting cameras around the location with the help of his team.


In no time, the big cat showed up and the photo is currently making waves on social media. It is known that the juvenile female panthera pardus was spotted traveling with a larger, normally coloured leopard, presumed to be its mother.

The rare species is also known to be a melanistic leopard. Their existence have been reported in and around Kenya for for decades. How National Geographic reports that scientific confirmation of their existence remains rare.
