US media says U.S. will send 14,000 soldiers to the Middle East denied

According to the Russian satellite network, the US Department of Defense on December 5 denied news of plans to send 14,000 US troops to the Middle East.

A spokesman for the US Department of Defense, Alyssa Farah, reportedly wrote on Twitter: "Let me explain: the news is wrong. The United States has not considered sending another 14,000 soldiers to the Middle East."

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal quoted US officials as saying that the US President Trump administration is considering the possibility of sending 14,000 US troops to the Middle East to "combat" Iran.

Officials pointed out that in addition to soldiers, the United States will send dozens of ships and other military technology equipment to the Middle East. They added that the US President "confirmed the need to counter the threat posed by Tehran."

Earlier, the United States accused Iran of attacking Saudi Arabia's oil facilities, which Iran denied. US Secretary of Defense Esper then said that Trump had approved additional troops to the Middle East because of Iran's suspected attack on Saudi Arabia.
